children.

Funding to hire and train youth
organizers to work in their communities
and schools to advocate and improve
the livesof young people in Rochester.

Center for Youth Services                 $10,000
To implement the Violence Prevention
and Suspension Program in two elementary
schools in the Rochester City School District's
Children’s Zone.

Compeer                                        $10,000
For the Community Connections for Youth
Program, one on one mentoring of
emotionally disturbed youth.
Community Place of Greater

Rochester                                      $20,000
For the HOST Program.
This program reduces transience and helps
families by providing affordable housing
and support services.

Daystar                                          $25,000
For sponsorship of the 2nd Annual
Daystar Derby. The Derby raises funds
to care for infants with complex medical and
developmental needs.

East House                                     $1,500
For adults recovering from mental illness
and/or chemical dependency to attend an
Enrichment Program to learn life skills.

Equicenter                                    $15,000
Provides individuals the opportunity to
participate in therapeutic riding programs.

Friends of the Rochester
Public Market                                     $10,000
To develop and implement a program
that allows low-income families with
Electronic Benefits Transfer Cards to
purchase local foods at the public market.

The Friendly Home                             $5,000
Enhanced Alzheimer programming and
staff training to improve the care of
Alzheimer's patients.

Garth Fagan Dance                               $10,000
Scholarship assistance for dance students to
allow economically challenged students to attend
the Summer Movement Institute.

Gateways Music Festival                       $5,000
For a music festival weekend that is free to the
public.  Supports classically trained musicians of
African descent.

Genesee Center for the Arts & Education             $10,000
For the Urban Youth Arts Education Program, an
after-school arts program that serves 1400 youth
and adults.

Great Beginnings Family Center                      $5,000
Providing services to children ages 2-3 years with
developmental delays or disabilities.

Greater Rochester Enterprise                           $25,000
Support to promote and foster economic development in the
Rochester area.

Heritage Christian Services                              $5,000
To support the Super Saturdays programs at the
Pieters Family Life Center.  These programs provide
services for families of children with disabilities.

Highland Hospital Breast Imaging Center       $10,000
Increase access to diagnostic imaging services to
uninsured women and men.

Horizons at Harley                                               $15,700
For 15 students to receive scholarships to attend Horizon's
2008 Summer Enrichment Program.

Humane Society                                                   $2,500
For the Pet Assisted Therapy Program for individuals
with disabilities and funding for scholarships for agencies
that cannot afford the program.

Judicial Process Commission                            $5,000
For the Legal Action Project, an effort to assist parolees
by providing legal services and educating other providers to
reduce the barriers that prevent re-entry into the community.

Northeast Block Club Alliance                           $10,000
For the Greater Rochester Urban Bounty (GRUB)'s Summer on the
City Farm program which trains and mentors youth from the City's
NE neighborhoods.

MCC Foundation-GREEN                                     $16,880
For the Greater Rochester Early Educator’s Network. To promote
quality professional development within the early childhood care
and education community.

Memorial Art Gallery                                           $10,000
For the co-sponsorship of five family heritage days with the goal
of attracting 800 visitors per event and offering free admission.

MOKA                                                                      $5,000
For a neighborhood after school program introducing middle school
students to various art forms.

Mt. Hope Family Center                                      $15,000
For a summer program for low-income and at risk youth ages 6-12
held in the Rochester Corn Hill District.


Prevention  First Foundation                              $5,000
Training, Resources and support to the 14621 neighborhood to
educate and reduce household hazards.


Right-On-School                                                   $5,000
For inner-city youth to attend a summer school that focuses
on academic, character and anti-violence skills.

RAIHN                                                                      $10,000
To fund a faith-based collaborative that provides shelter, meals,
and support for homeless families.

Rochester Childfirst Network                               $5,838
To pilot a 6 month telemedicine program where children in the
center can be evaluated by a physician while allowing parents to
remain at work and the child to remain in care.

Rochester Children's Theatre                               $2,500
Funding for plays on tours to perform at Rochester area schools.

Rochester City Ballet                                              $5,000
To support 2009 performances of "Peter and the Wolf" inviting
all Rochester City School District Children.

Rochester General Hospital                                    $5,000
For a Pre-Diabetes Program that addresses the growing number
of individuals with this condition. 

Rochester Landscape Technicians                          $7,500
To implement Greenworx, a new program that provides hard to
employ people with the training to deconstruct buildings.

Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra                         $5,000
For sponsorship of six free "Around the Town” concerts held in
various neighborhoods.

Rochester Rehabilitation Center                               $10,000
Funding for a care coordinator for the Monroe County Mental
Health Court. The program assists individuals with mental
and developmental disabilities in the criminal justice system.

Rochester Special Hockey                                           $5,000
To increase the participation of developmentally disabled people
to ice hockey teams and programs.

ROC E6                                                                             $5,000
To support the 2008 summer camp program which provides
classroom instruction, mentorship programs, exercise, field trips,
for city youth ages 8-13.

Samaritan Women                                                         $5,000
For the Keeping Kids connected Program that helps kids stay
connected with their incarcerated mothers. 

Saint's Place                                                                     $14,380
Funding for the Saint's Place Child Care Center.  Child care that
enables refugee parents to attend language and job training classes.

St. John's Home Foundation                                           $2,500
Rochester, NY
To support a 3 day training series for 30 employees on the Eden
Alternative, a national program to teach employees to form
better relationships with patients.

Seeking Common Ground                                                $7,500
For the Herb Haven program that serves low-income and transitioning
women and their children. The program provides retail training, herb
farm management, and life skills workshops.

Sojourner House                                                                 $5,000
Provides shelter, a structured environment, education and
enrichment programs, and case management to women and children.

Spiritus Christi Mental Health Center                             $5,000
For the Community Health Outreach Initiative which provides
mental health counseling for young men of color, ages 16-18,
during incarceration and after release.

Spiritus Christi Prison Outreach                                     $10,000
Stable housing and support for men leaving incarceration.

Step by Step                                                           $5,000
To provide workshops and programs to incarcerated women on
self esteem, parenting, and other topics that will help them
become more productive individuals.

Stepping Stones Learning Center                                   $2,500
For the purchase of Boardmaker software, a computer, and a printer.
The software is a picture communication system for children with
severe speech and language deficits.

Successful Pathways                                                         $5,000
For a program that serves pregnant and parenting Rochester teens,
ages 13 to 21. The program assists and guides young adults with health,
education, mentoring, and social support.

University of Rochester Department of Pediatrics      $10,000
For Starlight pediatrics, providing primary care for children in
foster care in Monroe County.

University of Rochester Medical Center                         $10,000
For Health-E-Access, a Rochester's Child Care Telehealth
Access Network. Funds will expand telemedicine in the Children's Zone
of NE Rochester.

Young Audiences                                                                 $2,500
For the Arts in Learning Dance Residencies that take place during the
2008-09 school year.  Dance is used to teach and improve literacy
among Rochester City school District students
grades K-6.

Westside Health Center                                                     $10,500
For the purchase of a dental chair to serve low-income and uninsured
patients at the Woodward Health Center in Southwest Rochester.

Wilson Commencement Park                                              $2,500
Support for "Jazz for the Park", a concert at the Rochester Philharmonic
that benefits Wilson Commencement Park.
